The Potato Eaters
  Vincent Van Gogh, 1885
  oil on canvas, 82 x 114
   Amsterdam, Rijksmuseum
As happens not infrequently, Van Gogh has produced several versions of this painting (two designs, a lithograph, three paintings and a charcoal), employing several months, reflecting both his love for this issue, both the obsessive component of his work, rooted in a feeling exacerbated and complicated by important psychological disorders.
